Data Deletion Request

Last updated: 2026-06-06

This page explains how to request deletion of personal data we hold about you. It exists to satisfy data protection laws (including GDPR Article 17) and platform requirements such as WhatsApp Business and Meta app review.

How to Request Deletion

To request deletion of your personal data, email us:

legal@lumo.dance

  • From the email address associated with your account
  • Subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
  • Include your full name, the studio name (if applicable), and a brief description of which data you want removed.

We may follow up to confirm your identity before processing the request.

Processing Timeline

We will acknowledge your request within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days, in line with GDPR Article 17. If the request is unusually complex (for example, deleting a full studio account with many years of records), we may extend the timeline by up to a further 60 days and will tell you why.

What Gets Deleted

When a request is completed, we delete:

  • Your account, login credentials, and profile information.
  • Personal identifiers (name, contact details, messaging handles).
  • Attendance records and class enrollments linked to your identity.
  • Messages sent or received through the platform.
  • Payment records linked to your identity, except where retention is legally required (see below).

What Gets Retained

Some information is kept after deletion, only where the law requires it or for legitimate internal purposes:

  • Invoices, payment records, and accounting documentation — retained for the legally required period (typically 5 years under Romanian tax law and up to 6 years under UK tax law).
  • Security and audit logs sufficient to demonstrate compliance — typically up to 12 months.
  • Anonymised, aggregated statistics that do not identify you (for example, total active studios or attendance totals).

We do not retain any of this data for marketing or profiling. Where retention is required by law, the data is access-restricted and deleted once the retention period expires.

Studio Owners and Their Students

If you are a studio owner and you request deletion of your account, this affects the records of students, parents, and staff linked to your studio. We strongly recommend exporting your data first and informing affected users.

Students and parents can request deletion of their own personal data independently of the studio. You do not need permission from the studio to make a request.

Third-Party Services

Some data is processed by third-party services we rely on (for example, Stripe for payments, WhatsApp and Telegram for messaging, Postmark for transactional email). When we delete your data, we also instruct those services to delete the records they hold on our behalf, subject to their own retention obligations.
